  1. Looks great. It is very detailed with clear evaluations. Do you know what specific strategies you will be using? Will this be done when you collaborate with your other teachers? If so, I might see if what you are using could be successful at the middle school level. Thanks.

  2. I love your topic. Last year one of the groups of kids that I worked with was 3rd math at risk. I found them to be so eager to learn and really wanted you to be happy with their progress. I know you want to interview teachers, but what about interviewing or sending out a survey to the 3rd grade students to get their feelings on math and how they feel they improved over the year. Good luck!

  3. Looks very detailed! Do you plan on interview students, as well as, teachers? I think the perceptions of math would be interesting to see! Are you just using your students or the whole third grade?

  4. I for one am very interested in your findings. We've taught these in the past but our new math cord. doesn't believe in them so we are no longer implementing.
You're plan is very detailed so the only suggestion I would have is for this weeks assignment in part three maybe explain the strategies that you will be researching. Sometimes, especially secondary, have a hard time understanding what we mean by strategies.

  5. Very thorough and concise, and I am interested as my plan applies to 3rd grade math, too. I especially like that you are designing some professional development to implement your plan. There appears to be lots of communication and collaboration with the 3rd grade teachers. I look forward to seeing your results.

  6. The detail in your plan makes it very easy to follow. I don't have experience in elementary, or in math, but how will you choose your strategies? Will you use the experience of other schools? Is there a "math guru?" Do you have the luxury of PLCs to reflect with your teachers in order to make adjustments as necessary?

Just some questions that might be applicable. Best of luck with your project!

  7. Cherie, your plan is thorough and detailed. Great job! Does your campus have a data or math specialist? I believe they would be able to assist you with deciphering the math data and perhaps even have some additional strategies for you to utilize. Looking forward to reading your findings!

  8. Your plan looks very thorough and detailed. I agree with the post above and would add - utilize as many "people resources" as possible when you begin to analyze the data and make changes; the more professionals you collaborate with the less stress you will feel trying to make it all happen! All the best to you in your research!

  9. WOW! You have everything so outlined which will be so helpful when the craziness of a new school year hits. You will have a lot on your plate so don't hesitate to ask for help from fellow teachers. What is the AWARE program? I also would like to know the specific strategies you plan to use because there are so many out there. I can't wait to see your results so I can share them with my own faculty!

  10. It looks like you have your action plan detailed to the minute! Great job! As a middle school teacher, I understand some of your terminology. I agree with Cassie, though, that perhaps you might explain some of the programs at your campus that may not exist at other schools. I look forward to what your research yields. I think all campuses could use the information your plan will generate.
